Kingfisher Medical Foundation's Ticket to Paradise Raises $6,700
January 16, 67 people from the community of Kingfisher and the surrounding area, packed their bags and joined the Kingfisher Medical Foundation (KMF) on “Anchors Away- Your Ticket to Paradise” fundraising cruise! Carnival Cruise Lines and Journey House Travel, Oklahoma City donated $6,700 back to the foundation from ticket sales. Not only that, but each cabin was also provided a $25 gift certificate to be used on board the Carnival Conquest!
In the early morning hours of the 16th, we all boarded four buses along with the Logan Medical Center Foundation, Guthrie, and headed for the beaches of Galveston, Texas. At noon on the 17th, over 200 people from both communities boarded the luxurious Carnival Conquest and at 4 PM exactly, we set sail for a wonderful, fun filled 7 days in the Western Caribbean. We saw the sights of Montego Bay, Jamaica, snorkeled in the turquoise blue waters of Grand Cayman and swam with the dolphins in Cozumel. We explored breathtaking waterfalls, lounged on enchanting beaches, shopped to our hearts content and experienced the exciting life aboard the Carnival Conquest.
“A special “Thank you” goes to “friends of the foundation” who participated on the foundation’s first fundraiser with Carnival Cruise Lines and Journey House Travel” Angie Ulsaker, Foundation Director stated. “The cruise was so much fun, there’s going to be another one in 2011!”
The money raised will provide resources to Kingfisher Regional Hospital and the medical community for the advancement in technological needs as well as staying up to-date with the changing community needs. “There is always a continual demand to upgrade and improve equipment and services for the communities that we serve”, states Ulsaker.
